Wayfinder Introduction:
Wayfinder is an artificial intelligence protocol launched by Parallel, designed to bring the power of AI agents to the blockchain to support the gameplay of Colony. In simple terms, the system allows AI agents, known as “Shells,” to navigate the blockchain environment, execute transactions, and interact with decentralized applications. Wayfinder can be used for a variety of use cases in both gaming and non-gaming environments. For example, blockchain-based games can utilize Wayfinder to deploy their own autonomous AI agents or manage the discovery and distribution of scarce in-game resources. The protocol can also be used to create intelligent trading or NFT minting bots, and even AI-powered customer service agents.
Wayfinder Team
The developers of Wayfinder are Parallel (PARALLEL is a sci-fi themed collectible trading card game (TCG) that leverages the power of NFTs to grant players ownership of their cards and other game assets). The team behind Wayfinder closely overlaps with the Parallel team:
Oscar Mar – Co-founder and Art Director Oscar Mar is a graduate of the Vancouver School of Media Arts and has previously worked at Ubisoft.
Perry Haldenby – Co-founder and CTO Perry Haldenby is a graduate of the University of Waterloo, co-founder and CTO of Parallel, and previously co-founded Amulyte.
Wayfinder Project Funding
Wayfinder is fully funded by the Parallel team. The funding history of the Parallel project is as follows:
On October 22, 2021, Parallel completed a $50 million funding round, with participants including Paradigm and others.
On March 28, 2024, Parallel raised $35 million in funding, with participants including Solana Ventures, Base, Collab+Currency, Amber Group, Spartan Group, Distributed Global, VanEck, Big Brain Holdings, Builder Capital, Base Ecosystem Fund, and more.
Wayfinder Economic Model
According to the previously proposed PROMPT economics for Wayfinder, the maximum supply is set at 1 billion tokens. The distribution plan is as follows:
50% allocated to the community, where Wayfinder plans to allocate 40% of its supply to existing contributing community ecosystems such as Parallel Colony and Echelon PRIME, as well as other potential mainstream blockchain and decentralized network protocols. Additionally, 5% will be reserved for future incentives, and 5% for pathfinding incentives (to incentivize the discovery and creation of Wayfinding paths).
6.66% allocated to the Foundation.
1.34% allocated to launch partners.
16.51% allocated to the team.
25.49% allocated to investors.
Summary
Wayfinder is not just a tool, but a new landmark that redefines the front-end of blockchain. Wayfinder not only quickly captures the attention of existing users but will also become a decisive force in driving blockchain ecosystems toward the mainstream.
